Bourbon - Bottle FillingThe Bourbon distilleries have such a large output, that they all can afford their own bottling line. Even distilleries as small as Maker's Mark and Labrot & Graham have their own small bottling lines.
Maker's Mark - Bottling First the selected barrels are brought by truck to the bottling line and emptied over filters. The pieces of charcoal, which fell off the cask walls during the transport and maturation time are held back by the sieve.
Heaven Hill - Barrel Opening
Heaven Hill - Barrel Emptying The Bourbon is pumped to a storage vat and fed from there to the bottling line.
Ancient Age / Buffalo Trace - Bottling Line American whiskey is bottled in the most diverse bottle sizes, forms and materials. Typical are the sizes of 0.2 litres (flat bottle), 0.7 litres (Europe), 0.75 litres (US market, Japan), 1.0 litres (Duty-free), 1.89 litres (1/2 gallon).
