Benrinnes 15 Jahre - 2002 Fruity Tang Spangle
A warming and woody welcome introduced baked apples and pears and a drizzle of runny honey. With water the honey turned towards toffee and caramel, or vanilla and fudge ice cream with a spicy dose of cinnamon toast. Dried fruits appeared with banana, apple and mango whilst it retained a sharp twist of limejuice to give the feel of sweet and sour sauce. Fruits continued on the palate as melon sweets mingled with mandarin and grapefruit in sugar cane juice sprinkled with coconut shavings. Deeper notes of truffle oil and chocolate ice cream balanced the playfulness of lemon sherbet and pine resin on the finish.
