I'm giving 3.5 I'm still new to single-malts and this is really good choice to start with if you are new, like i did. It will let you experience different tastes and you will be able to determine what you like and not so much for next purchase.

Aroma: Rauchig mit sanften Sherry
Geschmack: Kräfige Würze,Honig und Heidekraut
Abgang: Lang -süß und intensiver Malt, etwas rauchig (genau richtig)

Aroma: zarter, delikater Rauch (erloschenes Lagerfeuer), geröstetes und leicht süßes Malz, leichte Würze der Eiche, Kräuterhonig, Heidekraut, ein Anflug von Karamell, frische Früchte und Zitrusnoten, leichter Sherry im Hintergrund
Geschmack: voll(-mundig), intensiv, angenehm weich und trotzdem kräftig, Würze der Eiche, leckerer Rauch, Süße, geröstetes Malz, eine gewisse Sherry-Fruchtigkeit
Abgang: lang, leicht warm, intensiv, mit würziger Eiche, etwas Rauch und einem Hauch süßes Malz
Kommentar: Diese zarte und delikate Rauchnote legt sich wunderbar leicht um/über alle Aromen und lässt ihn dadurch für die jungen 12 Jahre schon recht komplex wirken. Meiner Meinung macht gibt diese dezente Rauchnote das besondere Etwas. Mit der beste 12 Jährige!

Nosing:
The nose is immediately sherry driven, with a light smokiness in the background. There are savoury spice notes (cardamom?) and a chocolatey/cocoa note also.
Taste:
Sweet sherry arrival with citrus and spice. The smokiness is quite noticeable but not nearly as strong as Islay malts. There's a significant oakiness and maybe a little saltiness towards the finish.
Finish:
Medium length with spicy oak and very slightly bitter.
Comment:
I don't know if its just my taste in whisky changing, but I don't think this is quite as good as I remember it in the past. The nose is very pretty and quite complex, but I remember the finish being better. Its still pretty consistent though and one of the reliable mid smokiness options out there, and the price is right as always.

Comment: This was the whisky that got me into single malts. The balance between fruity, savoury, malty tastes with a gentle peat smoke in the background was something I hadn't experienced before. Doesn't really matter how good whiskies I will taste in the future, I don't think any will make such an impact as this did on the first taste.
