Arran Amarone Cask Finish, besides the Marsala, Port and Sauternes, is the fourth bottling in the Wine finish series of Arran. This Single Malt matured in an Ex-Bourbon cask and finished in an Amarone Red Wine cask and therefore has a strong red colour and intense fruit aromas.

Nosing: Intense dark fruits. Plums. Blackberries. Strong Oak note that is offputting. Underneath the intense smell are subtler notes including strawberry candy and honey.
Taste: Arrival is strong, intense fruit concentrate. Apricot, raspberry. Tastes a little artificial. Develops into a strong "alcohol" note that doesn't balance well with fruit.
Finish: Long and intense. Strong cinnamon. Offputting alcohol note lingers.
Comment: Artificial and rough. I'm 1/3 through the bottle and won't be drinking it neat anymore. Will try to make cocktails out of it.
