Caol Ila - 2010 Ila Marsala - The Firkin Islay
This Caol Ila was bottled by The Firkin Whisky Co. The founder of the company, Mike Collings, was already working in the Whisky industry for 40 years and decided to start a new business right before his retirement. The bottlings of the Firkin Series are matured in special custom made casks. For those, the staves of Bourbon and Limousin oak casks are combined and the finished cask is saturated with the 'soulmate' of each Whisky. The cask which was used for this Caol Ila contained Marsala Wine before.
