Lindores Lindores MCDXCIV (1494) 'First Release' + New Make Spirit
The Lindores Abbey plays an important role in the history of Scotch Whisky: The earliest written mention of Whisky (or aqua vitae) from 1494 in the Exchequer Roll. Brother John Cor, a monk of Lindores was tasked by King James IV to produce the aqua vitae from malt. Today, 500 years later, Whisky is produced directly in front of the Lindores Abbey. The lowlander partly matured in Wine and Sherry casks. Limited bottling. This set includes a Lindores New Make Spirit 63,5% vol.
