This milestone started in 1993 and is proof of talent in the craftsmanship of malt master David Stewart, who developed a procedure in 1982, which is known as 'Wood Finishing' today. Ex-Bourbon casks from American oak and Hogsheads were used for the 12 year old Balvenie Double Wood. A finish in Ex-Oloroso Sherry casks made from Spanish oak follows.
