Der 1731 Fine & Rare Panama Rum wird in Column Stills destilliert und für mindestens 8 Jahre in Bourbon-Fässern aus amerikanischer Eiche gereift. Der Rum aus Melasse wird im tropischen Klima von Panama gelagert und anschließend ohne Kühlfiltration oder Zugabe von Zucker, Farb- oder sonstige Zusatzstoffe mit 46% vol. abgefüllt. Das Unternehmen 1731 Fine & Rare stammt aus den Niederlanden. Ausschlaggebend für den Namen des unabhängigen Abfüllers ist das Jahr, in dem die britische Royal Navy begann, ihren Seeleuten ein halbes Pint Rum als Teil des Lohns anzubieten. Die Produktserien der Niederländer sind Regional Blends und Single Origin Rums. Sie umfassen Rumsorten aus Mittel- und Südamerika.
