The Maison Hennessy Cognac distillery was founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy and is today one of the best-known houses for Cognac. In 1806, Jean Fillioux was appointed as the first Hennessy Master Blender, and since then the Fillioux family has overseen the ageing and blending process for the 8th generation. The iconic Hennessy logo, the “Bras Armé”, was introduced in 1856 and shows a fist holding an axe - a symbol that refers to the family coat of arms of Richard Hennessy.
