The Lazy Dodo XO Chronicles Rum is produced at the Greys Distillery in Mauritius. It matures for at least 13 years in French oak barrels, ex-cognac and ex-bourbon casks. By blending the best vintages, a balanced creation was created. The emblem of the island of Mauritius, is the flightless dodo, a bird that was already extinct in the 18th century. The sugar cane is grown in a 37-hectare botanical garden before being processed into molasses and then fermented for 24 to 48 hours.

Grays was founded in 1931 as the Mauritius O.K. Distillery Company in Port-Louis on the island state of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Since 2016, the Lazy Dodo Rum has been produced, another product in the Grays range, which also includes the well-known New Grove Rum.
