The Single Malt Longmorn Distiller's Choice matured in three different types of cask. Distiller's Choice is part of the distillery's standard range and was distilled using traditional Pot Still stills. Only the best malted barley is used. After distillation, the Single Malt is matured in American, European and traditional oak barrels carefully selected by the Master Distiller.

Many Scottish Whisky distilleries were founded during the Whisky boom at the end of the 19th century but in contrast to most of them Longmorn succeeded to survive. The Speyside distillery that is situated in Elgin/Morayshire next to the Ben Riach Distillery has constantly produced without any terms of mothballing up to now.

Kommentar: Ich hatte noch keinen schlechten Longmorn, und auch dieser ist prinzipiell lecker, süffig, rund, und in entprechend schwacher Umgebung (gemütliche 10er oder 12er oder NAS Speysider) kommt er auch mit seinen 40% gut weg. Aber den tollen 16er abzusetzen und stattdessen diesen hier für mehr Geld (72€) anzubieten, ist einfach gnadenlose Selbstüberschätzung oder Marktverkennung oder Kundenunterschätzung seitens des Herstellers... zumindest kann ich nur hoffen, dass die Kunden nicht so blind sind oder der Markt so verkorkst ist, dass sich dieser Whisky zu diesem Preis verkauft.
