	Aroma	Smoke gives way to the rich, caramel sweetness of toasted, fresh French oak. Cinnamon, nutmeg and clove combine with baked apples and pears drizzled with honey. Peat smoke with oak and spices remains present.
	Proef	Toasted oak, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate and a hint of sweet smoke. A compote of apples and pears follows, while the barley creates a subtle, earthy undertone and finishes with the scent of rain-soaked earth.
	Uitgang	Very long with sweet, roasted wood, baking spices and a hint of smoke. The finish is flavoured with fruit and a hint of sea salt.

Octomore 16.4 is a Single Malt Whisky from the renowned Islay distillery Bruichladdich and adds a particularly exciting cask maturation to the legendary Octomore series. The Octomore bottlings are regarded as some of the most heavily peated whiskies in the world and at the same time stand for innovation, origin and uncompromising quality. Each edition takes its own approach to interpreting the combination of peat smoke, barley and cask maturation in a new way. The Octomore 16.4 was made from barley from the eponymous Octomore Farm on Islay and initially matured in bourbon casks. It then underwent further maturation in French virgin oak casks, which give the whisky additional depth and complexity. This combination of fruity distillery character, intense peat smoke and fresh oak makes 16.4 one of the most distinctive bottlings in the current series.

The Octomore 16.4 is bottled at a powerful 62.6% vol. in natural colour and without chill filtration. Despite its comparatively young age, it displays remarkable maturity and balance. With the successful combination of Islay barley, ex-Bourbon and French Virgin Oak maturation and high cask strength, the Bruichladdich Octomore 16.4 embodies the experimental philosophy of the Octomore series in an impressive way. An intense, complex and yet surprisingly balanced Single Malt for lovers of smoky Islay whiskies and exceptional cask maturation.
