Sild Lost Cave #02

The Sild Lost Cave #02 bottling comes from the traditional Lantenhammer distillery at Schliersee in Bavaria, which has been known for its handcrafted spirits since 1928. Under the brand name Sild, special single cask and small series are created in collaboration with the whisky brand originally based on Sylt, combining the Bavarian art of distilling with exceptional ageing conditions. The "Lost Cave" series owes its name to an old cave system on the western side of Lake Schliersee, which was rediscovered and used as a natural maturation room. In this constantly cool environment, with a climate of 94% humidity and a constant 8°C, the casks mature slowly and evenly, giving the whisky a special character. Unlike its predecessor, the second edition of this series, Lost Cave #02, was matured exclusively in former Bourbon casks. This gives it a different focus in terms of flavour structure, but remains true to the concept of cave maturation. This limited edition was bottled at 48% vol. in just 945 individually numbered bottles, which emphasise the handcrafted and exclusive profile of the range.
