Togouchi Rum Cask Finish first matures for two years in bourbon casks and then for a further 18 months in rum casks. The special thing about Togouchi whiskies is the unique location for the maturation process: in the mountainous region of Nishi-Chugoku Sanchi, there is a tunnel that was built by the Japanese railway company in 1970 but remained unused. With a constant temperature of 14°C and a humidity of 80%, it offers good conditions for maturing the whiskies. The Togouchi Rum Cask Finish is an exceptional blended whisky with a touch of special rum flavours such as vanilla, caramel, molasses and sultanas. The Togouchi Rum Cask Finish is a limited special edition that combines the traditional Japanese art of distillation with an innovative rum cask maturation process. The blended whisky is aimed at connoisseurs and fans of special cask finishes. In contrast to the permanently available Sake Cask and Beer Cask variants, the Rum Cask Finish is only available for a limited time.
