Ardara Cask Strength Single Malt Irish Whiskey

This whiskey is the first cask strength Ardara Single Malt from the newly founded Ardara Distillery in County Donegal, Ireland. Having previously only been available exclusively at the Ardara Visitor Centre, it is now also available at the meeting place for fine spirits. It is characterised by its strong peat smoke note, which makes it one of the smokiest Irish whiskies with a phenol content of 55 ppm. This intensity is achieved through the exclusive use of malt grain and traditional triple distillation in copper Pot Still stills. The distillery also relies on the "all grains in" process, which utilises all the crushed grain - except the spent grain - thereby reducing waste and increasing yield. The resulting waste is currently channelled into methane production. The Ardara Cask Strength Single Malt Irish Whiskey is therefore a rich single malt with special character traits. Maturation takes place in a mixture of American bourbon casks, virgin oak and oloroso sherry casks, with the whisky being stored in a solera vat system to ensure consistency and depth. This combination gives the Ardara Single Malt a complex flavour structure with notes of dark chocolate, dried fruit and a smoky finish at an intense 58.5% vol. The cask-strength Ardara Single Malt Whisky is a high-quality, smoky whisky that embodies the tradition of Irish whisky making in a modern interpretation.
