The Aberlour Double Cask was matured in two different types of casks. Besides fruity sherry casks, ex-bourbon casks were also used. After the 16-year maturation, the malts were blended together.

Kommentar: Sehr komplexes Exemplar, das mit frisch-fruchtigem Aroma an den Start geht. Auf die Zunge kommt der Aberlour mit vielschichtiger fruchtiger Süße, deutlichen Sherry-Noten aber auch frischen zitrusartigen Anklängen. Kurz danach bis in den Abgang hinein stoßen auch kräutrig-herbe Noten zur Süße hinzu und verdrängen sie zusammen mit pfeffrigem Alkohol ein gutes Stück. Darf ich noch öfters trinken, um wirklich alles zu erfassen, vielleicht werden es dann noch 4,5/5.
