Product description
The Ardbeg Galileo is the successor bottle to the Alligator. Internally, the bottling was called Son of Alligator. It is again a limited bottling, this time with 12-year-old Single Malt Whisky from 1999. The malt comes from three different types of casks. One part comes from old wine casks in which Marsala was previously matured in Sicily. Their contents were mixed with whiskies from 1st and 2nd fill ex-bourbon casks.
The whisky is named Galileo, after the father of modern astronomy.

Aroma: Peat Smoke Sweet Pepper rauchige Süße und dezente Gewürze, etwas Salz und Jod

Geschmack: Peat Smoke HoneyOil typischer Ardbeg-Rauch, ölig, ein paar Tropfen Wasser öffnen die Aromen, dann sehr komplexe Fruchtnoten

Abgang: Peat Smoke Honey rauchig süßer, langanhaltender sehr harmonischer Abgang, mit Holznoten, Nussnoten und Früchten

Kommentar: schöner und komplexer Whisky, typisch Ardbeg, etwas Luft nach oben, da der Rauch stark dominiert. Erst mit etwas Wasser öffnet sich dieser Whisky. Man braucht Zeit und muss mehrmals verkosten um alle Nuancen zu erfahren. Nichts für Einsteiger. Ich würde bei dem Preis nicht mehr kaufen. Ein Familienmitglied hat diesen Whisky vor Jahren mal für 80 € gekauft !!!

Aroma: Milder Rauch mischt sich mit Karamell, Fruchtigkeit, Karamell und pfeffriger Würze.

Geschmack: Rund, kräftig, ausgewogener Rauch und Fruchtigkeit, Anklänge von roten Trauben und leicht zartbittere Noten, die Süsse kommt mit der Zeit immer stärker durch.

Abgang: Ewig, rauchig-süss, Karamell

Abgang: lang mit viel Rauch und zarter Eiche.
