Ardlair Second Fill Madeira Cask Finish - Stillmans Gold 15 Years 2010/2025

The 15-year-old Ardlair (an alias of the Ardmore distillery) was released by the independent German bottler The Cask Hound. The bottling matured in a former bourbon cask and was then finished for a year in a second-fill Madeira cask from the Deanston Distillery. The Caskhound has set itself the task of bringing exactly this kind of pleasure into the glass: versatile, unique and always with surprising cask combinations. This Speyside whisky presents itself at 53.9% vol. at natural cask strength, i.e. without the addition of artificial colourings and without chill-filtering, with fruity orange notes and delicate oak aromas that are excellently surrounded by warming biscuit facets. And what's so special? This Ardlair bottling shows the rare, unpeated side of the Ardmore Distillery and therefore an exciting contrast to the otherwise typical Heavily Peated Malts. Non-smoky bottlings are a real exception there and this is precisely what makes this malt so appealing. The fine Madeira finish provides a great and refreshing twist that further enriches the house style of the Single Malt.
