Jim Beam gehört zu den größten Whiskey-Produzenten auf dem amerikanischen Kontinent. In Kentucky betreiben Sie mehrere Brennereien. Unter dem Namen Jim Beam arbeiten zwei Destillerien, eine in Boston und eine zweite in Clermont (östlich von Bardstown). Die Jim Beam Brennereien sind für normale Reisende nicht zu besichtigen. Stattdessen gibt es das externe Besucherzentrum 'American Outpost', das einem authentisch und multimedial die Geschichte Jim Beams näher bringt. Hier steht auch ein Haus der Beams, in dem Geschäftsgäste empfangen werden. Das Wohnhaus der Beams steht dagegen mitten in Bardstown, dem Zentrum der Bourbon Produktion. read more

    Kommentar: Für einen Bourbon sehr komplex. Mit persönlich ist der Alkohol ein bisschen zu schlecht eingebunden.
    Dieser Whisky profitiert sehr davon, wenn man die angebrochene Flasche nochmal eine Weile im Keller lagert.

    Kommentar: Naja, ich finde, da gibt es deutlich bessere Bourbon. Warum er nicht gleich korrekt verdünnt in den Handel kommt, ist mir schleierhaft. Nicht oder Zuwenig verdünnt schmeckt er mir gar nicht (2Sterne). Aber deutlich (!) verdünnt und 15 min stehen lassen, macht er auf und wird ein durchaus beeindruckender Whiskey. Wie man einen hochprozentigen Whisky mild destilliert, kann man bei Bruichladdich verkosten. Von einer prämierten Destillateurin habe ich erfahren, dass die Milde, auch bei hochprozentigen Produkten, vom Destillationsprozess abhängt (aufwändig, teuer). Den Bakers würde ich mir nicht nochmal kaufen.Eiche Pflaume
