Variety Single Malt Whisky
Aroma Freshly harvested barley and orchard fruits with accents of wild bergamot meet notes of pear and honey, all enveloped in delicate pastry flavours.
Taste Clementines and pastry cream, plus facets of blossom honey, sweet spices and some apricot. Hints of almond malt and traces of wild cherry follow.
Finish Persistent and with gentle flavours of kilned malt.

Product description
Once a year during the 'Malting Season' at Benriach, the local barley is traditionally malted by hand on the distillery's historic malting floor. Benriach is one of only two remaining distilleries in Speyside that distils whisky from malted barley from its own maltings. The average age of this limited bottling is 10 years and was created from a combination of 9.5 and 10.5 year old whiskies that were malted, distilled and matured in autumn 2012 and 2013. The Third Edition was matured in first fill bourbon casks and fresh oak casks.

Aroma: Frisch geerntete Gerste und Obstgartenfrüchte mit Akzenten von wilder Bergamotte treffen auf Noten von Birne und Honig, alles umhüllt von zarten Gebäckaromen.

Geschmack: Clementinen und Gebäckcreme, dazu Facetten von Blütenhonig, süße Gewürze und etwas Aprikose. Anklänge von Mandelmalz und Spuren von Wildkirsche folgen.

Abgang: Anhaltend und mit sanften Aromen von gedarrten Malz.

Kommentar: sehr sehr schöner Geruch, Zitrusfrüchte, Frische, grüner Apfel, sehr gehaltvoll, leider im Nachgang etwas scharf für 43%. 85€ finde ich etwas pricy für den Whisky.
