Through triple distillation, the malt developed a particularly soft character. The cask maturation took place in fresh bourbon casks. Benromach has only two stills. The third distillation takes place again in the Spirit Still.

Aroma: Aloe Vera-Gurken-Lotion am Holzfeuer, Honigmelone mit etwas Pfeffer und Olivenöl, da sind schon ziemlich appetitliche Aromen, dazu noch eine Wachsjacke im warmen Sonnenschein.

Geschmack: Sehr sanft und geschmeidig werden die irisch-fruchtigen Aromen getragen und wieder mit würzigen Holzrauch verfeinert.
Gegen Schluss dann Holunderblütensirup, schmatz, schleck.

Abgang: Im Abgang wird das Ganze dann relativ zügig blasser, bleibt aber harmonisch und dabei interessant von der Aromenmischung her. Mit Kauen wird's länger. Und: er bleibt zum Glück alles andere außer langweilig!

Kommentar:
Smooth, süß-rauchig, ja der ist lecker, obgleich eher simpel. Genuss ohne viel nachzudenken mit interessanter Fruchtwürze. Schöne Reifung und insgesamt gut - bei Benromach gibt's ja zum Glück meist verlässliche Qualität.
Braucht viel Luft in der geöffneten Flasche!

Aroma: Leichter Rauch, heimische wie exotische Früchte, Zitronensaft, Banane, Stachelbeere, Pfirsich, unreife Ananas, Maracuja, Malzsüße, wird süßer und geht in Vanille über, Kräuter, wird zunehmend herber

Geschmack: Schön cremig, der Rauch ist sogar noch zurückhaltender, sehr fruchtig mit viel Malz, etwas Vanille, Milchkaffee, weich mit feinen Holznoten

Abgang: Mittellang, etwas herb, minimal rauchig, geröstete Nüsse, schöne Holznoten, Milchkaffe

Kommentar: Gefällt mir gut, bietet sehr viele Aromen und ein ausgewogenes Profil. Viel Zeit kann man ihm nicht geben, die Aromen verfliegen schnell und er kippt in die herbe Getreidearomatik. Aber zu diesem Preis kann man nichts falsch machen, wer Benromach mag und sich ein leichtes Rauchprofil wünscht der kommt hier auf seine Kosten würde ich sagen
