The Caol Ila Amontillado Hogshead - Peated is a special bottling from the "Best Dram" line, which is dedicated to presenting limited edition Islay whiskies full of character. The series is aimed at both collectors and whisky connoisseurs who are looking for bottlings from exceptional casks. Behind "Best Dram" is an independent bottler who stands for transparency and quality and respectfully emphasises the special features of each distillery. The Amontillado Hogshead is a traditional sherry cask that is used several times in the whisky maturation process after its original use for Amontillado sherry. This type of cask ensures that the whisky subtly conveys the typical notes and character of the sherry while retaining the smoky island flavour of Caol Ila. The result is a whisky that harmoniously combines origin, tradition and limited bottling.
