Casamigos Mezcal Joven

With the Casamigos Mezcal Joven, George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman show that they don't just have a good hand with tequila. This mezcal comes from Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca - the heart of Mexican mezcal culture - and is traditionally handcrafted there. It is made from 100% Espadín agave, which matures for 6-8 years under the Oaxacan sun before being harvested. The agave hearts (piñas) are then roasted in underground pits on hot stones, which gives the mezcal its typical, smoky flavour. It is then ground by hand, fermented and distilled twice in small copper stills.
