Aroma Mild flavour with dry and slightly cooling fruit notes of tropical fruit salad, led by lychees and mangoes. Accents of pineapple and melon are added, while a chalky mineral note provides variety.
Taste Creamy-soft texture with a typical waxy flavour. Slightly sweet and slightly acidic, with a pleasant, sunny tropical fruit flavour that is harmoniously integrated. Warming, spicy and lively towards the end.
Finish Medium to long, spicy and warming with a lingering, fresh and fruity aftertaste. A dash of water provides additional sweetness and flavour, but without these characteristics overpowering the finish.

Product description

Product description
This Clynelish was also bottled for the Special Releases 2025. This year's bottlings are presented under the motto Horizons Unbound. With 18 years of maturation, the Clynelish Single Malt is the oldest of this year's special releases. After the distillery experimented with various cut points for the distillate, the Highland malt spent its entire maturation period in refill casks. Cut points are the temperature ranges at which the separation between pre-run, mid-run and post-run takes place. Aroma, Taste and alcohol content are personally checked by the stillman to recognise the transitions. A task that requires a great deal of expertise, patience and know-how. Since 2001, the spirits group has bottled an annual collection of limited edition Single Malt Whiskies from its extensive distillery portfolio. The series includes Scotch whiskies that are rarely available on the market and have been matured experimentally or are considered to be of particularly high quality overall. Whisky fans and collectors are therefore equally addressed. The whiskies are released once a year at cask strength and are characterised by exceptional maturation and in some cases old vintages, although bottlings without an age statement are also available. For some years now, each edition has had an overarching theme, which is reflected in the artistically designed labels and packaging. Previous themes have included "Legends Untold", "Elusive Expressions", "Spirited Xchange" and "The Enigma of the Casks". The special releases offer connoisseurs the opportunity to discover unique flavour profiles and one-off cask ageings.

The Distillery: Clynelish

The new Clynelish Distillery on the east coast of Scotland was only established in 1967. It is located on the same premises as the original "Old Clynelish Distillery", which in turn had been mothballed and was reopened for a short period of time under the name of "Brora". read more

  • Herstellerbeschreibung
    on 30.09.2025
