Product description
This 12-year-old Fettercairn is part of the new range from the award-winning distillery based in the picturesque Fettercairn Valley. A special feature was also transferred to the bottle design: the ring on the neck of the bottle and the grooves in the shoulder of the bottle reflect the exceptional nature of the distillation facilities. The company still bears the unmistakable logo with the white unicorn today.

    Kommentar: In der Nase sind zunächst Birnen- und Vanillearomen präsent, gefolgt von Kräuternoten, einem Hauch von Minze und Zitrusnoten, nach dem ersten Schluck sind auch Anis und die Eiche präsent.
    Auf der Zunge von Beginn an ölig, süß mit Vanille und Honig, dann zunehmend fruchtig mit Pfirsich, Birnen und einem Hauch tropischer Früchte, zum Ende hin malzig und etwas Eiche.
    Im Abgang fruchtig, süß und ölig, Kräuternoten, Gewürzen, Eiche und ledrige Noten
    Für rund 40 Euro bekommt man eine gute, vom Geschmacksprofil nicht ganz alltägliche Standard-Abfüllung geboten. Ohne Färbung und Kühlfiltrierung (bei vielleicht etwas höherem Alkoholgehalt) wären noch mehr Punkte drin gewesen.

    Kommentar: Die Frucht- und Kräuteraromen sind neben den deutlichen Eichennoten die dominierenden Eindrücke, der Abgang ist eher kurz. Die 12-jährige Standardabfüllung bietet durchaus eine gewisse Komplexität, ohne Farbstoff und Kühlfiltrierung wäre auch ein höhere Punktzahl drin.
