Product description
Flor de Caña Rum comes from Nicaragua and is the only rum brand in the world that is authorised to call itself 'slow aged'. With this certification, the US government authority ensures that the maturation process is natural and not accelerated. The rum is produced directly at the San Antonio sugar factory at the foot of an active volcano, which belongs to the "Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua" founded in 1890. This Flor de Caña rum matures for 18 years in ex-bourbon barrels. The rum is balanced and strong with notes of nuts and caramel, which combine with fruity accents of vanilla and spice - without any artificial additives, added sugar or unnatural flavours. In addition to its commitment to the environment with over 1 million newly planted trees for the reforestation of the rainforest, the distillery is also involved in the medical field for burn victims and children with cheilognathopalatoschisis.
