Fortin Heróica Ron Anejo Del Paraguay is produced from rums made from hand-cut sugar cane and pure spring water from Piribebuy and matured for between 5 and 6 years in former bourbon barrels. The rum is then given a 6-month finish in barrels that were previously filled with passion fruit liqueur. This brings out exotic fruit flavours with a smooth, creamy finish. The rum is a tribute to the historic Battle of Piribebuy, created to pay homage to the town where the Fortin distillery is located and the inhabitants who fought on the front line during the Triple Alliance War of 1864 - 1870.

The traditional Fortin Rum distillery is one of the oldest in the country and is located in Piribebuy, where the Diaz de Vivar family found the perfect conditions for growing sugar cane. On the ‘Ruta de la Caña’, visitors can immerse themselves in the history of sugar cane and experience how the famous Fortin Rum is made.
