The Tilo's Proof - Glen Spey 12 Years from The Caskhound is an elegant Single Malt from Speyside, which matured for a total of 12 years and was designed as an accessible single cask bottling. After classic maturation in bourbon casks, the whisky was given a one-year finish in a first-fill Amarone wine cask. The Italian Amarone is produced from dried grapes using the appassimento method and is one of the most concentrated and aromatically intense red wines in the world. This special cask finish gives the Speyside Single Malt from the Glen Spey Distillery a fruity depth with dark berry fruit, fine sweetness and structuring tannin spice. The typical distillery character is retained and is light, floral and pleasantly grassy. The whisky was bottled at 51.7% vol. at natural cask strength, without chill filtration and without colouring. An accessible but characterful single cask whisky that shows how harmoniously Glen Spey interacts with Amarone influence.
