This Glenallachie matured for 13 years in an Oloroso sherry puncheon was bottled exclusively for the German market. A puncheon is an old English unit of measurement; in terms of casks, it refers to somewhat wider, stockier types than butts, which also hold 500 litres. This bottling reflects the high level of quality and individuality of GlenAllachie. Billy Walker and his team bottled this Speyside whisky at natural cask strength in a limited edition.

The Distillery: Glenallachie
The GlenAllachie Distillery, located in the famous Speyside region, is one of Scotland's younger distilleries, but since its takeover in 2017 by Billy Walker and his team, it has quickly made a name for itself with its high-quality Single Malt Whiskies. The name GlenAllachie comes from Gaelic and means ‘Valley of Stones’, which underlines the distillery's deep connection to the region. In addition to classic bottlings, the distillery has also been producing the peated Meikle Tòir since 2018, which is a special discovery for fans of smoky Speyside Whiskies.

Kommentar: In der Nase: dunkle Früchte, Rosinen, reife Herzkirschen, blaue Trauben, Schokolade, Feigenmarmelade und über allem eine deutliche süße Sherrynote mit ein wenig weißen Pfeffer. Die 62,9% Alkohol sind hervorragend eingebunden. Am Gaumen das gleiche Erlebnis - dunkle Früchte, Sherry satt und einen lang wärmenden Abgang. Auch hier macht sich die Alkoholstärke zwar bemerkbar, aber nicht störend. Mit ein bisschen Wasser wird er cremiger und süßer und jetzt wird auch die pfeffrige Note deutlicher. Mit und ohne Wasser ein sehr schöner Whisky. -

62,9% ist schon eine Ansage, aber Billy Walker sagt, seine Produkte benötigen kein Wasser - also pur probiert… -
Herstellerbeschreibungon 08.01.2025Aroma: Gerösteter Kaffee und Honigwabe mit Akzenten von Orangenblüten. Es folgen Noten von reifen Kirschen, pochierten Obstgartenfrüchten und Nuancen von Ingwer.
Geschmack: Salzkaramelleis und die charakteristischen Anklänge von eingelegter Honigwabe mit buttrigen Facetten von Rosinenbutter, gehen in getrocknete rote Beeren und Mokka über. -
