In the 19th century, port was imported to the island for the Scottish aristocracy. Even today, Portugal's Douro Valley is still known for its high-quality port. In one of these casks from the Douro Valley, this Single Malt from Glendronach received an unusually long three-year post-maturing.

    Kommentar: Ein schöner Whisky, gar keine Frage.

    Aroma: Sehr fruchtig und aromatisch, ein Schwall von dunklen Früchten und Beeren wie Pflaumen, Kirschen, Trauben, Brombeeren, dahinter etwas Eiche und leichte Würzigkeit

    Geschmack: Kräftiger Antritt, ölig, komplex, volle Fruchtladung mit typischen Portweinnoten, dazu aber auch eine angenehme Würzigkeit mit Eiche und Zartbitter-Schokolade und Orangenschalen

    Abgang: Lang anhaltend mit dunklen Früchten, Rosinen, Schwarzkirschen sowie Schokolade

    Kommentar: Typischer Portwein-Whisky, fruchtig, süffig, würzig. Genau mein Beuteschema!

    Abgang: Oak Sherry

    Kommentar: Riecht nach Früchten bzw. Beeren. Zudem etwas sauer bzw. zitrische Noten. Im Geschmack ähnlich fruchtig und beerig mit Noten von leicht saurer Orange. Dazu leichte Anklänge vom Fass. Im Abgang dann zunehmend trocken und mehr Eichengeschmack. Würde mir besser gefallen mit süßeren Noten, so immerhin 4,5 Sterne.
