The Glenfarclas distillery was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay and is one of the best-known and most successful family-run distilleries in Scotland. The owner family Grant is proud of its private status, which is reflected in the distillery's slogan ‘The Spirit of Independence’. Since 1865, the fifth generation of the Grant family has been shaping the history of the Glenfarclas distillery. This long family tradition guarantees consistent quality and the necessary foresight for a long-lasting product such as Whisky.     Kommentar: Die 0,7 l Flasche ist mir leider zu teuer, aber ich würde sie kaufen wenn ich könnte. Das ist ein spitzen Whisky! Ob er nun besser, gleichwertig oder schlechter gegenüber anderen 30 Jährigen ist, kann ich aber nicht sagen, da ich noch keine Gelegenheit hatte, welche zu probieren.

    Kommentar: als grosser Glenfarclas Fan älterer Abfüllungen, heute haben sie leider nachgelassen, überzeugt dieser auf ganzer Linie. Der 25y ist auch sehe gut, den 21y mag ich überhaupt nicht. Der 30y macht aber vieles richtig und ist ein würdiger älteter Bruder des 25y. Er ist mehr aufgeladen und reifer, prickelt schön und ist nicht zu trocken hinten raus. Ein solches Sample ist ab und an völlig ausreichend , habe ihn mehrfach probiert und war jedesmal sehr zufrieden. Eine Grossflasche macht was her, preislich muss man aber wissen ob man das ausgeben möchte. Hatte mal die Wahl zwischen diesem hier und dem Tomatin 30y, beide waren damals gleich teuer. Haben den Tomatin genommen, da er doch noch etwas interessanter und intensiver war. Wer Glenfarclas mag, sollte diesen aber unbedingt mal getrunken haben
