Scottish tradition meets Caribbean joie de vivre in this Glenfiddich. This Glenfiddich, post-matured in rum casks, shows a beautiful combination of whisky and rum. 21-year-old malts matured in oak casks are stored again for about four months in casks that previously held rum.

Glenfiddich is Scotland's best-known and most successful distillery. It is located in the heart of Speyside, in Dufftown to be precise. Also known as "The Giant", it has an impressive annual production capacity of 21 million litres. No other Single Malt is as popular worldwide. Glenfiddich Whiskies are usually matured in small Ex-Bourbon casks made from mild American white oak. Ich habe zwar nur eine 200mL-Flasche gekauft, aber der Inhalt ist ja gleich:
Aroma: sehr komplex mit fruchtigen Noten, etwas minzig, leicht ledrig und angenehm, mögl.weise von der EicheOak , der Geruch ist sehr interessant eingebunden.Malt Green Apple

Geschmack: zu Beginn mild dann Lakritze, die in schwarzen Kaffee übergeht, Coffee

Abgang: mittellang weiter mit Eichenanklängen langsam auslaufend,Coffee Leather

Kommentar: eine tolle Kreation, die 21 Jahre sind zu spüren, schön, dass dieser Glenfiddich keine starken Geschmacksspitzen aufweist, aber das kenne ich so von Glenfiddich, immer sanft in der Mitte. Der hohe Preis ist schade.

Kommentar: Ein super umgesetzter Rum Finish aus dem Hause Glenfiddich; einziger Wunsch wäre es, dass dieser mit 46 % versehen wäre. Immer wieder gerne.
