Green Spot Château Montelena is classically triple distilled and aged in oloroso sherry and bourbon casks. This special bottling was then finished in Zinfandel wine casks. The barrels used come from Chateau Montelena, a winery in Napa Valley, California.

Kommentar: Mein liebster Irish Pot Still Whiskey mit sehr gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Ölig, mundfüllend, fruchtig süß und mit dezenter Würze.
Diese Abfüllung hat meinen Horizont Richtung Irland erweitert und obwohl ich seitdem viele (deutlich ältere und bis zu dreifach teurere) irish Whiskeys probiert habe, bleibt dieser mein Favorit und sollte zusammen mit dem Redbreast 12 Cask strength in keiner Hausbar fehlen.

80/100 Ein ansprechender Whiskey, der, aufgrund seiner tollen Geschmackskomponenten, gerne noch etwas intensiver hätte sein können. Die Nase kann man vergessen, die Bringer sind der Geschmack und das lange Finish.
Aroma: sehr zurückhaltend, leicht nach Frucht-/Beerengelee
Geschmack: süß, fruchtig, dann trocken, würzig, deutlich pfeffrig, wirklich lecker
Abgang: frische, würzige Weinnoten, etwas Zimt, im Hintergrund Gummibärchen

Alles in einem ein sehrt leckerer Green Spot. Wer Green Spot kennt aber diesen noch nicht, dann mal schnell kaufen und Genießen

Geschmack: Sehr prickelnd auf der Zunge beginnend, dann wieder Honig, cremig, und dann etwas exotische Früchte und ein Gefühl an halb vergorenen Trauben, und eine sehr dezente Würze.
Abgang: Im mittellangen Abgang bleibt eine angenehme Würze zurück.
Kommentar: Toller, vielseitiger Whisky.
