The American High West distillery is located in the 'far west' of the USA, in the state of Utah in the Wasatch-Uinta Mountains. For the Double Rye, two straight rye whiskey recipes are blended together: a rye from the distillery's own distillery with 80% rye and 20% malted rye and a rye from the MGP Distillery made from 95% rye and 5% malted barley.

Aroma: rel. herb für einen Roggenwhisky, kommt wohl auch vom hohen Industrie-Anteil

Geschmack: schön trocken, aber würzig

Abgang: schön lang, würzig, leichte versteckte Süsse zu erahnen

Kommentar: ein toller Rye;
schon die Herkunft Utah lässt ihn im Kopf noch besser geniessen, als es dem objektiven Geschmack wohl entspricht: tolle Sache für jeden USA-fan

Aroma: Mächtig viel Roggen, ein wenig Vanille. Kräuter-, Menthol- und Teenoten (Schwarz und Grün).

Geschmack: Weiterhin Roggenwürze mit Eiche, Ingwer/Pfeffer und Minze.

Abgang: Intensiv nach Vanille und Minze. Ingwer und Eichensüße nimmt deutlich zu. Mittel bis lang.

Kommentar: Toller Rye-Whisky! Für Freunde des krätigen Roggengeschmacks mit allen Facetten und Kanten!
