The Jack Daniel's American Single Malt is a limited edition bottling from the cult distillery that has matured in fresh, hand-charred American white oak casks. The special thing about this Jack Daniel's Single Malt is the finish in Oloroso sherry casks, which is rather rare for American whiskey.

Aroma: Deutlicher süßer Sherry mit braunem Zucker, Vanille, Röstaromen wie bei Kaffee. Sehr eichenlastiges Aroma.

Geschmack: Weich, süßlich und andersartig (als das was man von Jack Daniel's gewohnt ist): Fruchtiger Sherry mit dunkler Schokolade (fast schon Mokka!) mit Marzipan, Zimt, Zucker, Brombeeren und leichtes Karamell.

Abgang: Maximal Mittel: Zum Ende hin eine dunkle Schokotarte mit Karamell, Pudding, Zimt und Zucker.

Kommentar: Die Eigeninterpretation von Single Malt durch die Amerikaner ist traditionell ganz weit von den Schotten, Japanern, Iren, usw. entfernt! Jack Daniel's geht hier einen mutigen Schritt nach vorne als Big Player im großen globalen Whiskymarkt. Geschmacklich gut, im Preis ein wenig zu teuer geraten!

Kommentar: Obwohl es ein Single Malt aus Gerste ist merkt man trotzdem deutlich den JD Charakter. Das Sherry Finish gibt Schokolade und Trockenfrüchte an den Whisky, Eiche mit Pfeffer und Kaffee.
Wirklich sehr leckerer Jack Daniel's.
