Product description
The Johnnie Walker Black Ruby is a special interpretation of the Black Label bottlings. The blended Scotch consists partly of whisky matured in first-fill red wine casks from the modern Roseisle distillery, giving it an incredibly rich, pleasantly sweet and smooth flavour profile. Whiskies from Oloroso sherry casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and bourbon cask matured malts were also utilised for the composition of the Johnnie Walker Black Ruby. The fruity and sweet flavour experience was bottled at the usual 40% vol.

    Aroma: Malzige Süße, rote Früchte und ein Hauch Rauch, so wie man es hier erwarten würde. Dazu Amarenakirsche.

    Geschmack: Zunächst malzige Süße eingebettet in Honig und Vanille, gefolgt von schweren Noten roter Früchte und Brombeer-Kirschmarmelade; Amarena.

    Abgang: Lang, rauchig, fruchtig und Süß. Irgendjemand hat Omas Kirschkompott in das Honigglas fallen lassen und eine Zigarre drauf geworfen.

    Kommentar: In der Werbung als dezidiert "femininer" Whiskey vermarktet, wagt Johnny Walker hier den Versuch eines fruchtigen Whiskey für Frauen und Cocktails. In Cocktails wie dem Manhatten oder als fruchtigen Old Fashioned mit Amarenakirschen macht er eine gute Figur, aber der "feminine", fruchtige Geschmack kommt nur durch, wenn man den Whiskey pur trinkt. Sobald etwas Wasser oder Eis hinzukommt, bleibt es ein normaler Johnny Walker in mild, da die Aromen roter Früchte verfliegen. Nur was für Liebhaber.
