The KinGlassie Double Matured owes its name to its maturation in ex-bourbon casks made from American oak and ex-Amontillado sherry casks. The heavily peated Single Malt Whisky is distilled annually for just two weeks over the winter months at the InchDairnie Distillery. Only barley malt from Fife was used to produce the first Single Malt from the Lowlands distillery, which was kilned with peat from the mainland to over 50 ppm. The KinGlassie whisky matured in the warehouses of the Inchdairnie distillery and was first aged for 5 years in former American oak Bourbon casks and then for a further three years in Amontillado sherry casks. Fife is a peninsula north of Edinburgh that offers ideal conditions for growing barley and rye. The versatile approach gives each bottling from the Fife distillery, which was founded in 2015, a distinctive complexity.

Kommentar: ein qualitativ hochwertiger und charaktervoller junger Malt. Nur der Preis ist leider zu hoch, möglicherweise auch mit der schicken Marketingopfer Verpackung geschuldet. Weniger wäre vielleicht manchmal mehr.
