Product description
Laphroaig stands for intensely smoky malts - so it's no wonder that the Islay distillery places great importance on its own peat. The hand-cut peat is first dried for three months and then used to dry the grain on Laphroaig's own malting floors. In the live tasting, we sample three of the smoky creations: The 10 year old classic, the Cask Lore partly matured in sherry casks and quarter casks and Oak Select with proportions of all known Laphroaig bottlings (10 year old, PX Cask, Quarter Cask and Triple Wood).
The live tasting has already taken place. However, you still have the opportunity to purchase this delicious compilation as a set. You can find the video of the live stream directly here in the article or on the Whisky.de YouTube channel.

The area around the distillery, which is located on the remote island of Islay (pronounced 'Ei-la') off the west coast of Scotland, is just as beautiful.     Aroma: Peat Smoke Leather Tobacco Cherry Sherry sehr spannend in der Nase. Wenn man das Glas schräg hält, kann man dominiert im oberen Bereich die Rauchnote. Im mittleren Bereich kann man deutlich den Geruch nach Tabak und Leder riechen, während im unteren Bereich des Glas der Duft nach süßen Noten wie Kirschen, Sherry dominieren

    Geschmack: Leather Tobacco Peat Smoke im Geschmack kommen die Geschmacksnoten in gleicher Reihenfolge zum Vorschein, wobei hier Tabak und Leder dominieren und die Rauchnoten sowie die Süße etwas in den Hintergrund tritt

    Abgang: Tobacco der Abgang ist kürzer als gedacht. Hier ist der Whisky wohl zu stark im Alkohol reduziert worden. Es bleibt der Geschmack nach Tabak zurück.

    Kommentar: Leider baut der Whisky nach spannenden Geruchsaromen stark ab. Daher solide 3,5 Sterne
