This Mac-Talla PX 2.0 is the long-awaited and strictly limited new edition of the highly sought-after special bottling from Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers. The first Pedro Ximénez edition was sold out within a short space of time, as the combination of intensely smoky Islay Single Malt and the luscious sweetness of Spanish Pedro Ximénez sherry casks met the taste of many whisky lovers. This reinterpretation is also the responsibility of Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, an independent bottler with many years of experience in the selection of characterful Single Malts. The name Mac-Talla comes from the Gaelic and means "echoes" - an allusion to the landscape and tradition of Islay, whose harsh coastal climate characterises the whisky. The Mac-Talla PX 2.0 continues this philosophy and combines distinctive peat smoke with the deep, fruity-sweet structure of maturation in selected Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The cask maturation provides intense notes of dark dried fruit, caramel and chocolate, while the smoky character remains clearly recognisable and blends harmoniously into the sweet and spicy profile. The result is a powerful, dark and complex Islay Single Malt with a long, balanced finish that authentically reflects the typical coastal signature of the island.
