This 26-year-old Mannochmore belongs to Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice series and was matured in a single refill sherry hogshead. It was bottled exclusively for a German importer. The independent bottler is probably the one with the largest cask inventory. Already decades ago, the Urquhart family cultivated the important contacts to the distilleries, and now the range is correspondingly wide. In the meantime, their malts from the 'Distillery Labels' series are often considered original bottlings, as many of the distilleries included do not bottle themselves.

Scottish Malt Distillers founded Mannochmore distillery in 1971. The site was managed by John Haig & Company Limited until 1985, at which point it was mothballed due to the big british recession.

Sehr schwer sogar.
Die Frucht liegt leicht erhaben über dem Glas,
es dominant das Fass.
Extreme Holznoten, vermutlich wurde es Zeit.
Tabak, Möbelpolitur, Sherry, vergorene Früchte.
Sehr schmackhaft!
Aber auch sehr gewaltig!
Der zieht ordentlich rein,
verströmt ein sehr schönes Aroma.
Sehr vielschichtig,
gerade was die Holznoten betrifft.
Ich wiederhole mich - viel länger hätte der nicht im Fass bleiben dürfen.
Klasse!
