Michter's is one of the most traditional American Whiskey distilleries, with a history dating back to 1753. Founded by John Shenk in Pennsylvania, continued by Abraham S. Bomberger, marked by Prohibition and changes in ownership, it was given the name Michter's in the 1950s. In the 1990s, production was moved to Kentucky and modernised. It takes place at three locations: the Shively Distillery, the Fort Nelson Building and the farm near Springfield. read more

    Kommentar: Aroma klassisch Bourbon - ich hatte gehofft, durch die Verwendung von re-fill Fässern wird der bourbonhafte "Klebstoff-/Lösungsmittelgeruch" anfangs gedämpft, leider war das für mich nicht der Fall. Zugegebenermaßen verfliegt er aber schneller als bei anderen amerikanischen Whiskeys. Ansonsten süß und karamellig. Geschmack dann sehr smooth, wunderbar nussig, präsente Vanille. Abgang mittellang, ölig und honigsüß aber auch einiges an Eiche. Hab ihn auch auf Eis probiert, da wird er noch smoother und die Eiche im Abgang weniger, dann ist er schon fast gefährlich süffig. Den Preis finde ich trotzdem min. 10-15€ zu hoch angesetzt.
