As the malted barley for this whisky is ground with windmills, as was customary in the past, the Single Malt was christened Millstone. It is double distilled in copper Pot Stills. This bottling was matured in high-quality Pedro Ximenz casks.

Ein ganz toller Whisky, der echt mal was anderes ist und geschmacklich vollkommen überzeugen kann. An der Flasche hatte ich viel Freude! -

ChristianGon 24.06.2023Aroma: Scharf (Jugend?), dunkle Früchte, leichte Muffigkeit, dezenter Rauch
Geschmack: Startet ziemlich süß, typischer Millstone-Rauch, allerdings schwächer als beim Moscatel. Früchte nur noch schwach erkennbar. Wird schnell pfeffrig-scharf.
Abgang: Endet scharf, allenfalls mittellang
Kommentar: So sehr ich vom Peated Moscatel begeistert war, so sehr enttäuscht mit der Peated PX. Er startet recht süß aber nicht fruchtig, wird dann aber schnell trocken (was ja nicht untypisch für px ist) und wirkt insgesamt recht jugendlich - auf der einen Seite scharf (positiv könnte man pfeffrig sagen) und dann trocken endend. Ich finde ihn interessant, aber nicht wirklich komplex. Ich würde den deutlich besseren Moscatel vorziehen, wenn dieser - leider - nicht vergriffen wäre.

Abgang: Lang, mit dunkler Schokolade und zartem Rauch.
