This Mortlach from the Speyside distillery with the special 2.8-fold distillation process was bottled for the Special Releases 2022.
Under the motto 'Elusive Expressions', this year's bottlings each represent a legend around their distillery. The Mortlach features the 'Beast of Dufftown', which rose into the night sky one night as the moon turned crimson.

    Kommentar: Das Stichwort lautet hier „Komplexität“. Dieser Malt ist ein wahres Wunder der Geschmacksvielfalt. Er ist wunderschön, um es mit dem Wasser mal nicht ganz genau zu nehmen und verschafft einem, im Laufe der Zeit, einzigartige Momente. Diageo ist leider sehr intransparent und so hat man sich hier für einen teuren NAS Whisky entschieden. Ich würde glauben, dass in diesem Malt einige ältere Fässer ein Zuhause gefunden haben, jedenfalls erinnert er mich an die besten NAS Geschichten aus alten Tagen, etwa den Royal Lochnagar Selected Reserve oder dem Laphroaig Lore. Einen Abzug gebe ich für den Preis und die wenigen Informationen seitens Diageo. Mit der tollen Verpackung wäre er mir 190

    Der Whisky ist mit seinem Preis eine einzige Dreistigkeit.
    Die wenigen Rezensionen, die es bei YT gibt, sind oft recht vernichtend.

    Diageo, der Mutterkonzern, ist völlig abgedreht.
    Kommt mir nichtmehr in den Warenkorb.
    Was man bspw alles für dieses Geld hier an großartigen Abfüllungen kaufen kann...

    Aroma: Reich an herzhaften Noten von weißen Bohnen, Tomaten und pikantem Fleisch, umhüllt von Trauben und Rotwein.

    Geschmack: Mundvoll und intensiv. Süße und Frucht stehen im Vordergrund, abgerundet durch Eichenaromen und würzigem Ingwer.

    Abgang: Lang anhaltend und kräftig mit Früchten und schwarzem Pfeffer.
