Product description
For the Nc'nean Huntress Lemon Meadow bottling, yeast from French sparkling wine production was used for fermentation. The raw spirit was then matured in a cask composition of STR Red Wine Casks (56%), Bourbon Casks (42%) and Oloroso Sherry Casks (2%). After more than 5 years in these casks, the creamy, fruity whisky with beautiful citrus notes was then bottled at 48.5% vol. and without the addition of colour or chill-filtering in the beautifully shaped decanter. The Highland distillery is committed to ecological quality and sustainability. It is produced using 100% renewable energy. Owner Annabel Thomas and her team combine innovative ideas with experimental approaches. With the Single Malt 'Huntress' in a dark recycled bottle, the distillery presents the result of its study with yeast - the ingredient for quite unusual flavours.

The Nc'nean distillery on the Morvern Peninsula, which opened in March 2017, describes itself as Scotland's first organic Whisky distillery. The name is an abbreviation of Neachneohain, a ghost queen from Gaelic legends, and is pronounced 'Nook-knee-anne'.

Aroma: Gelbe Getreidenoten, süßlich saure Zitronenbonbons aber auch Gebäck / Teig Noten, die an französische tarte au citron erinnern.
Geschmack: Intensive Fruchtigkeit mit einer angenehmen weil nicht zu starken Süße. Eine gewisse Trockenheit mit Zitrus-Säure und leichter Bitterkeit folgt.
Abgang: Sauer, dann trockener werdend und eine leichte angenehme Bitterkeit zum Schluss.
Kommentar: Dies ist ein junger aber lebendiger Malt, dessen Profil davon lebt, dass ein harmonischer Übergang von Süße über Säure hin zu Trockenheit und leichter Bitterkeit ein spannendes Profil ergibt. Gute Whiskies müssen nicht zwingend alt sein. Die Champagner-Hefen tun hier einen guten Dienst.
