Another Whisky.de exclusive bottling from Nc'Nean is this Highland whisky distilled in 2019, which spent its entire maturation period in an STR red wine cask. In whisky maturation, STR refers to the treatment of used casks in which the wood is scraped off, lightly toasted and then burnt out again to give the whisky new flavours and depth (shaved, toasted, recharred). The Whisky.de exclusive Nc'nean also belongs to the AON series, which stands for outstanding Single Malts from hand-selected single casks. Delicate, unique and unrepeatable. As a B Corp certified distillery, Nc'Nean places great emphasis on sustainability, using 100% organic Scottish barley malt, renewable energy, environmentally friendly packaging and maintaining a CO2 neutral balance. Whisky.de is delighted to be able to offer this special edition in close cooperation with Nc'Nean exclusively for its connoisseurs and customers only at Treffpunkt feiner Geister.

The Nc'nean distillery on the Morvern Peninsula, which opened in March 2017, describes itself as Scotland's first organic Whisky distillery. The name is an abbreviation of Neachneohain, a ghost queen from Gaelic legends, and is pronounced 'Nook-knee-anne'. read more
