In 1935 the Old Heavenhill Springs was founded by a group of investors and the Shapira brothers. Kommentar: Dieser Whisky hat mich wirklich überrascht. Hatte grade einen Preis gewonnen als ich ihn mir geholt habe, also waren meine erwartungen recht hoch. Und es fing erstmal nicht so vielversprechend an. Man hat die typischen, ryelastigen Boubon-Noten. Aber dann kommen wirklich untypische Noten dazu: Es wird floral, man bekommt noten von grünem tee. Der whisky wird trockener und herber. Süße und herbe wechseln sich schön ab. Es wird auch nussig. Wirklich vielschichtig. Aber diese grüne-Tee Note hatte ich so noch nie in einem Rye, was ihn für mich einfach genial macht....
