The Port Charlotte 18 year old from Bruichladdich is an exclusive Single Malt Whisky from the island of Islay that will delight lovers of intensely peated whiskies. The limited edition Port Charlotte Single Malt was distilled from 100% Scottish barley and impresses with its strong smoke content of 40 ppm, which is typical of Bruichladdich's Port Charlotte series. The 18-year cask maturation is made up of a complex interplay of different casks. First-fill Bourbon (40 %), second-fill sherry (15 %) and ex-virgin oak casks (15 %) give the Single Malt depth and complexity. Part of the sherry-matured malt was transferred to first-fill red wine casks from the Côtes du Rhône for five years before maturing further for two years in second-fill Bourbon (20%). The final part matured in 2nd-fill sherry and wine casks (10%) before all the components were married together to create the 2026 Edition. This careful and elaborate combination of maturation and finish gave the Islay whisky its unmistakable character and exceptional complexity. It was bottled at 52.3% vol. with no added colour and no chill filtration. Port Charlotte stands for the highest quality, from the field to the bottle and pure enjoyment - a must-have for all whisky fans who appreciate a full-bodied, peaty Bruichladdich Single Malt.
