Sakurao Classic Japanese Dry Gin is made from 9 botanicals at the Sakurao distillery in Hiroshima, Japan. A hybrid copper Pot Still manufactured in Germany is used for distillation. Sakurao also uses a steeping process in which distillation is carried out after the botanicals are immersed in a clear base spirit. A steaming method is also used, in which botanicals are placed in a basket installed in the distillation path to extract flavours from the alcohol vapour flowing through. This hybrid method is the best way to extract the flavours of all the individual botanicals. The list of ingredients includes 5 different citrus fruits, including limes, navel oranges, bitter oranges, sweet summer oranges and yuzu. Hinoki (cypress bark), green tea, red perilla and ginger are also added.

The Sakurao Distillery, founded in 2018 and affiliated with the brewery of the same name, is located in Hiroshima Prefecture in southern Japan. The modern distillery produces high-quality Single Malts on two custom-built stills. The hybrid still, which achieves an alcohol content of up to 85%, is particularly noteworthy.
