Product description
The fermentation for the Smith & Cross Traditional Jamaican Rum is carried out by regional wild yeasts, which contribute significantly to the Taste of the rum. The rum is distilled at the Hampden Estate Distillery in Jamaica, which is known for its aromatic distillates. Only Pot Still distillates are used. The intense rum is blended from almost equal parts of Wedderburn rums matured for at least half a year and Plummer rums matured for between 18 months and 3 years.

The Distillery: Hampden Estate

The Hampden Estate Rum Distillery has a long tradition dating back to 1753, when the estate in Trelawny, Jamaica, was established as a sugar cane plantation. Here, Hampden Estate Rum's signature high ester Rum is produced in the heavy pot still style, a method typical of Jamaica that gives the Rum its intense, fruity flavour. read more
