Talisker Skye has been partly matured in freshly burnt oak casks. The flavour is particularly spicy as a result. The Talisker Skye has replaced the well-known 10-year-old Single Malt in retail.
The new design favours more sustainable packaging with less plastic.

The Talisker Distillery is one of Scotland's best-known distilleries and is spectacularly located on the shores of Loch Harport on the Isle of Skye. Until 2017, it was the only distillery on the island and represents the rugged character of the coast with every drop. As part of the Classic Malts of Scotland, Talisker has achieved worldwide fame.     Aroma: Sweet Maritime Notes Fruit Peat Smoke Süßlich nach überreifen Früchten. Etwas maritim und jodhaltig, nur dezent rauchig. Zitrusfrische. Man merkt allerdings auch die ungestüme Jugend ein wenig.

    Geschmack: Sweet Caramel Malt Spices Süßliches Karamell und dezent prickelnde Würzigkeit am Gaumen. Liegt sehr mild im Mundraum, Alkohol ist kaum spürbar.

    Abgang: Sweet Honey Spices Peat Smoke Herb Honigsüß. Der Rauch meldet sich nochmal kurz zusammen mit den Gewürzen. Wird etwas trockener - und ist dann aber auch recht schnell schon wieder weg. Etwas enttäuschender Abgang.

    Kommentar: an sich wohl kein schlechter Einsteigerwhisky und der Preis geht auch in Ordnung. Aber für den fortgeschrittenen Genießer ein eher enttäuschendes Erlebnis. Zu jung, zu eintönig, ohne großen Tiefgang. Und dazu leider auch die Diageo typischen Eigenschaften Farbstoff und Kühlfilterung.
